We asked both engines the same question — "how much does Botox cost in [city]" — across 31 Dallas–Fort Worth cities. ChatGPT names about 6.9 clinics per city; Google's AI Overview names about 3.3. And the two lists barely overlap — only 24 clinics appeared in both across all 31 cities. Two engines, two very different answers.

ChatGPT casts a wide net, so being in its list is close to table stakes — you're probably already there, and so are eight competitors. Google's AI Overview is the selective one: it commits to just one or two clinics, so being named there is genuinely scarce. The two high-value wins are being one of Google's AI Overview picks, and being the clinic ChatGPT leads with instead of burying. Both come from the same foundation — clear, current, well-corroborated information the engines can read and trust. The catch: the engines disagree, so you have to check each one.
ChatGPT names far more. In our DFW data, asked "which clinics do Botox in [city]," ChatGPT lists about 6.9 clinics per city, while Google's AI Overview for "how much does Botox cost in [city]" names only about 3.3. ChatGPT casts a wide net; Google's AI Overview is selective.
Mostly not. Across 31 DFW cities we found only 24 clinics named by both engines for the same city — the two lists barely overlap. A clinic can be all over ChatGPT and absent from Google's AI Overview, and vice-versa, so you have to check each engine separately.
Because ChatGPT lists many clinics, simply appearing there is close to table stakes. The scarcer, higher-value wins are being one of the one-or-two clinics Google's AI Overview names, and being the clinic ChatGPT leads with rather than buries in its list.
